1. Who can use Plento Pasto
Plento Pasto is a meal-planning service for households in the United States. You must be at least 18 to create an account. Account ownership is one human per email address; one account can manage one household.
2. Your account
You agree to provide accurate information at signup and to keep your login credentials private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect someone else has accessed it, email
[email protected] so we can help you secure it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service — abuse of the planning system, fraudulent payment, harassment of other users, etc.
3. Subscriptions and payment
Plus is a recurring monthly subscription. You can cancel anytime in Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. We don't issue mid-period refunds for the subscription fee, with one exception: the Plus savings guarantee (Section 4).
Prices may change with at least 30 days notice via email to the address on your account. If you don't want the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't store your full payment card information.
4. The Plus savings guarantee
Plus tracks an estimate of what we believe we've saved you each month, based on the baseline takeout amount you enter at signup and the dinners you actually cook. If in any given month that estimate is less than the cost of your Plus subscription, we'll refund that month's subscription fee on request.
The guarantee covers only the Plus monthly fee. It doesn't guarantee any specific dollar amount of savings, doesn't cover other expenses, and doesn't apply if your account is in a suspended or cancelled state. Refund requests go to

5. What the service is — and isn't
Plento Pasto generates meal plans and shopping suggestions using AI. Recipe costs are estimates, not guarantees of what you'll pay at the store. Actual grocery prices vary by region, store, and week.
We don't guarantee a specific recipe is safe for your specific dietary or medical situation. The allergen and dietary fields are inputs to the planner, not a substitute for reading ingredient labels. If you have severe allergies or a medical condition, confirm every ingredient before cooking.
Plento Pasto is not medical, nutritional, or financial advice.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to harm others, transmit unlawful content, scrape data at scale, abuse the API, or attempt to break our security. Don't use Plento Pasto to plan meals for resale or for commercial food production.
7. Your content
You own the photos you upload (kitchen scans), the preferences you set, and your family-member info. By using Plento Pasto you grant us permission to process this content to provide the service — generate plans, identify pantry items, etc. We don't sell your content.
Aggregated, non-identifying patterns (e.g. "what cuisines are popular this month") may be used to improve the service.
8. Service availability
We try to keep Plento Pasto running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance windows happen. Third-party providers (Auth0, Stripe, Anthropic, Instacart) occasionally have outages that affect us. We'll communicate planned downtime via email when we can.
9. Termination
You can close your account anytime via Settings. Your data is retained for 30 days after closure in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted. If you want immediate deletion, email

We may close your account if you violate these terms; in that case we'll email you the reason.
10. Limitation of liability
Plento Pasto is provided "as is". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages — including loss of profits, data, or food cost overruns. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us during that period.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be announced via email to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes that can't be resolved informally will be settled in the state or federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois.
